A couple of posts in one, cos I haven't blogged for a while!

Well Hello again everybody!

it's been far too long since I last blogged so I thought i'd better get posting, so with a bit of luck I should be posting a few different things I have been working on.

Firstly the above image is for a Simply Betty Stamps challenge, using an awesome digi called "Mercedes" the witch. find the challenge below

http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/new-facebook-fan-page-challenge.html

Now in the UK we don't really send cards etc at Halloween, but I just love Betty's stamps I literally have hundreds of her digis and over 50 rubber stamps, (they are THAT good) so I just HAD to have this one to add to my collection!

Now I have coloured her using promarkers, and was inspired by Elphaba from the musical "Wicked" (musical theatre is another passion of mine alongside crafting)

She is backed on papermania capsule collection paper; the card is covered in DCWV street lace patterned matstack, with more DCWV patterned and plain cardstock; the ribbon along the bottom is a Berisford ribbon (I think) bought from my local Boyes store; the spider web and spider is a sticky backed felt embellishment purchased from Hobbycraft, I found the "trick or treat" rub on in the Range and I finally finished of the card with 3 super cute buttons in orange purple and green to tie in with the colours used on the image.

here is a close up of the image, as I was quite proud of my colouring (like I said on my last post, I am still getting to grips with blending and colour combos)

And that is the end of the Mercedes challenge, with about 7 days to spare, just need to link her to the challenge blog now.

so moving on to another project I have recently made, a paper cut! A new craft for me, but I absolutely love it! Hand cutting a design from a single sheet of paper.

this was made as a wedding gift! I love it! its so personal and beautiful at the same time. fiddly to do, and rather time consuming, but the results are great! here is a pic of what I am talking about

So here it is, in case you had absolutely no idea what I was babbling on about! (which wouldn't be a first)

the design was designed on my computer on a program called inkscape (I am not good with computers!) you can also hand draw images, or I guess if you are ridiculously good, just go for it without following a design. Now you must remember to flip the image before printing it out on the the back of the paper otherwise you cant read it when you turn it round the right way. (yes I am speaking from experience!!lol)

I created this on Cadbury purple paper to tie in with the bride and groom's colour theme (to add that extra personal touch) the hearts are backed with a purple glitter paper (extremely fiddly to glue into place), and the whole design is backed onto white glitter paper, then mounted into this gorgeous heart frame, and finally a little plaque added to the frame!

I love crafting!!!

so I think that's all for today, although I should have some more for you soon, if I can craft on my days off from rehearsing my next show!

thanks again for stopping by!

Take care and see you soon x
