31st birthday card, using saturated canary's Princess Reading Beauty

Hello again! Sorry it's been so long, but I just don't get as much opportunity to craft as I'd like to when I'm working "on tour".

But I did manage to make this for my wonderful friend Jemma who turned 31 this month. Now unfortunately Jemma was poorly sick on her 30th so couldn't celebrate the way most people would want to celebrate the big THREE O, so this year we made up for it by having afternoon cream tea at Thornbury Castle. It was soooooooooooo posh, any tea you could think of, finger sandwiches, and cakes and scones galore!!! We all surprised Jemma by being there, so it was lovely to see her, and celebrate with her!

One more thing I found out that I won second prize in Kim at Justwordz.ca's big giveaway! I am soooo THRILLED to have won! I haven't received my package yet, because I'm not home now until November, so hopefully it will be waiting for me!! whoop whoop! If you don't know who Kim is, she is a wonderful lady from Canada, who uses letraset promarkers, and she is kind enough to post video tutorials of the images she uses! You absolutely MUST check her out. http://www.youtube.com/user/kimbob271?feature=g-high-u

Anyway, enough about cake and competitions! This is another 8x8 card using Saturated Canary's Princess Reading Beauty, which can be found here

Yet another gorgeous image by the wonderful Krista Smith!

The digi is printed onto Neenah Solar white card stock and coloured with promarkers. (still working out colour combos. I forget to write down which colours ive used each time I colour something in!! Naughty Rochelle! *slaps back of hand)

Continuing on, I layered the card black with a generic turquoise polka dot paper (from a paper pad magazine type thing I bought from WHSmith for £9.99)

The little pink arrow and the green 31 is made of DCWV cardstock, as too is the pink mat behind the digi image.

The twine around the side edge of the card base is American Crafts (from TK Maxx), and the little butterfly charm is the same as I used on the previous card, from Dunelm Mill, but this one is turquoise.

The stars along the right hand edge, are cut from the same paper pack as the turquoise spotty background paper, and I just matted them onto some white card to make them stand out a little bit more.

The pink bracket at the side of the image is just a sticker I got in a kit years ago from Create and Craft (something about birds, and Sara Davies was selling it).

Jemma's name on the pink arrow are alphabet rub ons and the celebrate celebrate celebrate is also a rub on (I think a 7 gypsies one, if that is even a brand)

And finally to finish off the card, I added some stick on gems to the arrow, some stick on pearls to the edge of the image, and 3 super cute buttons to tie in with the colour scheme.

Hope you like it as much as the recipient did!

Bye for now.

Rochelle xx
